UNTITLED 153 BY CINDY SHERMAN

This photograph by Cindy Sherman explores similar colours and themes to the ones that I feel Angela Carter also looks at within her writing.
  • The use of nature and femininity. The idea of giving up hope yet still living, that same visceral feeling of strength through femininity.
  • I really like the pink tones of the face with the darker greens and blues of the surroundings. This is the exact feelings that i would like to re create within my prints. It would be interesting to explore similar themes to this.
  • The details in the ground and the surrounding nature is something that I'd like to explore and the texture of the damp ground and clothing.

Beautiful!!

"You can be terrified and screaming and hiding your eyes, but you’re laughing, the worse it is, because it’s just so over the top and cathartic to confront these things that are really disturbing. It’s okay because they’re fakes. It’s all set up. It’s functioning like a fairytale."
